How do I hit my sand, gap, and lob wedge further?

I’m 15 and a 5 handicap at my CC. I hit my sand wedge 85 yards and used to hit it 100 a couple months ago. My friend noticed that either my club at address is too open, or my swing is adding too much loft to my short irons and wedges. How do I hit my wedges further?

I am looking to buy a new gap wedge in golf?

Posted: March 21st, 2010 | Author: Sam | Filed under: Pitch Shot | Tags: , , , , , | No Comments »

I am a 19 handicap who is looking for a new gap wedge either 50º, 51º or 52º. My current wedges are 45º Pitch, 55º Sand (Callaway X20) and 60º Lob (Professional Open 658 series). I am not the best ball striker nor the straightest hitter. I am thinking about getting the Callaway X22 A wedge (51º). Any other suggestions?

How do you hit a bunker shot? Also which is harder… when the sand is really wet/hard or really dry/beachy?

I just couldn’t hit a bunker shot today to save my life!! It was really really wet. I always try to slide the club under the ball which sometimes works but today i was hitting nothing but skulls.

Also has anyone ever from the bunker, when you don’t need alot of lift to get out just trying a chip like shot(no wrists)? i managed to do that today and i was pretty proud of it. lol
