Ladies Golf Wedges
Ladies golf clubs are generally shorter in length and lighter to give a comfortable feel to the club with a more flexible shaft which is "whippier" that gives distance from a slower swing speed. Nearly all wedge shots require some speed through the ball to induce backspin which in turn promotes the drop and stop characteristic of the wedge shot. The more lofted the club the more height you can expect so a 60 degree lob wedge will pop the ball much higher than a 52 degree sand wedge. These clubs will not allow much in the way of shot shaping as the angle of the club forces the ball to "climb the face" so taking any sidespin off the ball and so the ball will pretty much go where you hit it. The beauty of the wedges is the ability to increase and decrease the height of trajectory by opening or closing the clubface. Opening the face will cause the ball to fly higher but distance will decrease and the trajectory will be more towards the right (for a right handed player) so you have to allow for this in your aim. The more open your clubface the further left you need to aim.
